Liz was a great support with my pregnancy and birth. She visited me at home a couple of times and had lots of knowledge with positions and techniques to help during pregnancy and labour, which she was able to show me and my partner. Throughout the pregnancy, Liz was always very positive and excited about the birth, and that it was going to be a great experience, as I'd had a not so great first birth. And being able to borrow her TENS machine and rebozo was very useful! The day of labour, I misjudged how far along I was and once Liz got to my house it was go time! I immediately felt relief once she was there, especially as my partner was starting to panic. Once we got to hospital, Liz got straight to setting the room up with music and lights etc, which I'm very grateful for as it was all a bit of a rush and I don't think anyone else would have thought about music, but I was able to focus on it in the last stages (I had sent her my labour playlist). I felt looked after throughout pregnancy and birth, and a nice touch was bringing me self care items and chocolate etc. She was confident and calm throughout my labour and it was a pleasure to have her on our birth team.
I genuinely couldn't have achieved it without you. When we were lost on what to do next you were always there with the answers! Corey and I are so grateful for the care you gave us. Going above and beyond in every aspect. If you weren't sure of an answer for something you made sure to find out! I couldn't be more thankful for everything you provided our family (Lola included) to be able to make my dreams of a VBAC come true.
We couldn't recommend Liz more highly to anyone considering having a doula as part of their birth journey. From the very beginning, Liz helped us put together our birth plan and made sure Ash and I felt informed, confident and prepared for what was ahead. When labour began, her calm presence, experience and guidance were invaluable. She supported us seamlessly through every stage and played such an important role in helping me have the birth experience I had hoped for. Having Liz there gave both of us so much confidence and reassurance, and allowed us to really focus on the experience rather than worrying about what came next. I honestly don't know what I would have done without Liz! She was my absolute fairy godmother throughout my pregnancy and labour. From the very beginning, Liz made me feel supported, understood and genuinely cared for. Her warmth, knowledge and calming presence made such a difference during such an important and vulnerable time. My labour wasn't easy, but having Liz by my side was an incredible blessing. Those first few weeks after bringing our baby home were such a blur, and having Liz there made all the difference. She was calm, kind, and just seemed to know exactly what we needed, even when I didn't. Whether it was helping me figure out feeding, holding the baby so I could shower, or just listening when I was feeling emotional, she made me feel so supported and cared for. She made our home feel calm again and helped me find my confidence as a new mum. I honestly can't thank her enough.
I want to share my appreciation for Liz for her support before and during my labour! Liz was kind, caring and really listened to exactly what I wanted for my birth. She was very thorough at our prenatal sessions and really supported me during the challenges I faced in the public system towards the end of my pregnancy (having a spontaneous labour after 42 weeks). During my birth she was amazing, everything was taken care of and I could just concentrate on getting through contractions, which she was supporting me through! Can't thank Liz enough and highly recommend.

After a difficult first birth, I knew I needed more support going into my second pregnancy. Finding Liz was honestly one of the best things that happened to me. There were many nights in the week leading up to labour where I felt exhausted and emotional. Contractions would start, then stop, and I was beginning to wonder if I would ever meet my baby. Liz checked in constantly, kept me focused, and reminded me to trust the process. When labour finally established, I felt calm and ready. The birth of our daughter was everything I had hoped for and more. Looking back, having Liz as part of our village made all the difference. I will always be grateful for her support, encouragement and belief in me.
We originally hired Liz because we wanted someone experienced to help guide us through our first pregnancy. What we got was so much more. Whenever we had questions, she answered them. Whenever we felt unsure, she helped us understand our options. Whenever we needed reassurance, she was there. Our birth ended up being very different from what we had planned, but at no point did we feel alone. Liz supported both of us through every twist and turn and helped us feel confident in the decisions we were making. If you're wondering whether hiring a doula is worth it, our answer is absolutely yes.
