Liz providing hands-on support during labour

About me

Hi, I'm Liz

I'm here to be your biggest cheerleader through pregnancy, birth and postpartum. The person in your corner reminding you that you are capable, strong and absolutely worthy of feeling supported every step of the way.

Because growing, birthing and caring for a tiny human is huge, and you shouldn't have to navigate it feeling alone.

I'm a straight talking, warm hearted birth lover with a soft spot for the real, raw, beautiful moments that come with becoming a parent. I'm also a mum to a one year old myself, so I know just how transformative, emotional, exhausting and incredible this season of life can be.

I genuinely love chatting through all the details with you. The birth preferences, the "what ifs", the random late night thoughts, the postpartum planning, the excitement, the nerves. All of it. Nothing is too small or too much here.

Whether you're planning a hospital birth, home birth, VBAC, caesarean, or still figuring out what feels right for you, I'll be there to support you with honest guidance, evidence based information, reassurance and a calming presence when things feel overwhelming.

My goal is for you to feel informed, deeply supported and confident in your choices so your experience feels like yours. Think of me as your doula, your safe space and your personal hype girl all rolled into one.

Training & experience

Trained, mentored and experienced

Warmth matters, and so does knowing what you're doing. Here's the professional side.

Certified birth & postpartum doula

Trained through Mother Moon Mentors in Melbourne, a doula training and mentoring community whose course covers pregnancy and labour, every type of birth including caesarean and VBAC, pain relief, unexpected outcomes and postpartum care, with a mentored practical placement alongside a real family.

10+ years with newborns and new parents

Over a decade as a postpartum specialist and nanny before becoming a doula: feeding support (breast and bottle), newborn cues and settling, safe sleep, emotional adjustment, and supporting partners and siblings.

Every kind of birth

Hospital and home births, planned and emergency caesareans, VBAC, inductions and the unexpected turns in between. Comfortable in any Melbourne hospital system and in your own home.

Care for every family

Experience supporting queer families, solo parents, families who have been through birth trauma or family violence, and families who need an interpreter. Everyone is welcome here, exactly as they are.

My approach

Warm, grounded and real

I'm the kind of doula who will sit with you through the hard moments, celebrate the powerful ones, answer the questions that keep you up at night, and remind you to trust yourself when doubt creeps in.

Whether you're preparing for your first baby, planning a VBAC, birthing at home, or navigating a hospital birth, my role is to help you feel informed, prepared and supported in a way that feels right for you.

I'm passionate about creating a space where you can ask questions freely, explore your options without judgement, and feel genuinely cared for throughout your entire journey.

Why choose a doula?

Someone in your corner from the very beginning

Understanding the value of continuous support during your birth journey

A family with their newborn just after birth

Birth is a huge life event and having the right support around you can make all the difference. I'm here to provide that continuous, compassionate support throughout your entire journey.

A doula provides continuous emotional, physical and informational support throughout pregnancy, birth and postpartum. While your medical team focuses on the clinical side of things, I'm there to focus on you. Your comfort, your experience, your questions, your choices and your wellbeing.

But beyond the research, having a doula means having someone in your corner from the very beginning.

  • Someone to answer the "is this normal?" texts
  • Someone to help you navigate all the information and options
  • Someone to remind you to breathe, eat, rest, move, laugh and trust yourself
  • Someone to hold space for both the excitement and the "holy shit this is a lot" moments

Whether your birth looks like candles and playlists, an epidural and hospital snacks, a planned caesarean or a VBAC, support matters.

My role is never to replace your partner or medical team. It's to work alongside them so you feel informed, confident, supported and genuinely cared for throughout the entire experience.

The evidence

Evidence-based benefits of continuous doula support

Shorterlabour duration
Reducedneed for pain medication
Lowerintervention rates
Increasedmaternal satisfaction

Beyond labour: postpartum and emotional support

The benefits of doula support extend well beyond labour. The research on postpartum doula care is smaller than the research on labour support, but studies suggest it can help with feeding confidence, emotional wellbeing and a smoother transition into parenthood. Your doula becomes a trusted guide through the vulnerable early weeks, offering both practical help and emotional reassurance when you need it most.

Labour findings from the Cochrane review of continuous support during childbirth (Hodnett et al., 2012).

Because every family deserves to feel seen, heard and hyped up a little along the way.

What families say

from 17 reviews

I immediately felt relief once she was there, especially as my partner was starting to panic. She was confident and calm throughout my labour and it was a pleasure to have her on our birth team.

Izzy and Steve

When labour began, her calm presence, experience and guidance were invaluable. She supported us seamlessly through every stage and played such an important role in helping me have the birth experience I had hoped for.

Ash, Rosy & Noah

I genuinely couldn't have achieved it without you. When we were lost on what to do next you were always there with the answers! Corey and I are so grateful for the care you gave us. Going above and beyond in every aspect.
